Welcome to Zealot!

Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use Zealot. Zealot is available in both open source and paid versions. The data we collect depends on which version you use.

1. Information We Collect​

Open Source Version​

  • Anonymous Error Reporting: Zealot uses Sentry for anonymous error reporting, which may include personally identifiable information (PII) depending on the error context. You can disable Sentry reporting in your configuration. For details, please refer to the Sentry documentation.
  • Website Analytics: The Zealot documentation and demo sites use Microsoft Clarity for website analytics. Data collected is subject to Microsoft Clarity's privacy policy. No analytics are collected from your self-hosted Zealot instance.

The paid version of Zealot is a self-hosted service. By default, we do not collect analytics or usage data from your instance. The only data that may be collected is:

  • Anonymous Error Reporting: Zealot uses Sentry for anonymous error reporting, which may include personally identifiable information (PII) depending on the error context. You can disable Sentry reporting in your configuration. For details, please refer to the Sentry documentation.
  • Personal Information for Billing/Support: If you purchase a paid license, we may collect necessary personal information (such as your name, email address, and billing details) solely for billing and customer support purposes. This information is not linked to your self-hosted Zealot usage or content.

Analytics Integrations (Self-Hosted)​

Zealot provides optional integrations for Umami and Google Analytics. If you enable these analytics services, data will only be sent to the analytics provider you configure (your own Umami instance or your Google Analytics account). Zealot itself does not collect or transmit analytics data to any third party by default. Please refer to the respective analytics provider's privacy policy for details on their data collection and usage.

2. How We Use Your Information​

Open Source Version​

  • Anonymous error data is used solely to improve the stability and reliability of Zealot. No personal data is sold or shared.
  • Website analytics for documentation and demo sites are used to improve content and user experience.
  • Anonymous error data is used solely to improve the stability and reliability of Zealot. No analytics or usage data is collected from your self-hosted instance.
  • Personal information provided for billing or support is used only for those purposes and is not associated with your Zealot instance data.

3. Sharing Your Information​

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share your information in the following situations:

  • With your consent
  • To comply with legal obligations
  • To protect the rights and safety of Zealot, its users, or others
  • With service providers who assist in operating Zealot (under confidentiality agreements)

For the open source version, only anonymous error data (if enabled) may be sent to Sentry. Website analytics are managed by Microsoft Clarity for documentation and demo sites only.

4. Data Security​

We implement reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. For open source users, you may disable Sentry reporting at any time.

5. Your Rights​

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information (paid version). You may also object to or restrict certain processing of your data. To exercise these rights, please contact us.

6. Changes to This Policy​

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on Zealot. Continued use of Zealot after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
